What to choose ; Warfare or Welfare?
Like every thing, the Peace and War have also their own stake holders. Although they are less effective despite their enormous strength of empowering the rulers, the masses should be categorized as stake holders in peace.
Both the civil and military establishments of Pakistan and India have sustained the status quo with the help of elements brainwashed to the extent that they don’t stop on less than the dismemberments, division and destruction of their neighbor countries. These elements exist on both sides of border. They “create” the maps of their “enemy countries” which show the “enemy” country divided into so many countries.
Any positive gesture from the leadership of one country receives warm reaction from the other but all at suddenly we witness that an incident, I directly blame the establishment of both countries for orchestrating it, evaporate the feelings of goodwill which falls as fire on both countries.
The need of the time is to reassess our enemies and if done this job sincerely I am sure the poverty will occupy the top in the list followed by unemployment, price hike, lack of education and basic health facilities.
I strongly agree that the aims of Indian leadership being guided [read it misguided] by the military and civil establishment of Dehli has always been cynical and thus it is less sincere in what we describe as the composite dialogues including talks over the issues ranging from Kashmir to Water dispute, but there arises some questions which should be asked from the leadership of Pakistan and India. Will the war benefit the masses of these so-called welfare states? Will the bomb feed the masses of their countries? Can they win over each others? Shouldn’t the budget spent on buy weapon for killing others be spent on buying machines for saving their own masses?
This is what the stake holders in war think. But what the stake holders in Peace think? Thanks to the ruling class, masses are misguided and divided on the issue of relationship of both neighboring countries. But there are forces that “Aspire for peace”. They intend to show the masses their real problems. There is difference between Welfare and Warfare. Two most powerful media groups of Pakistan and India, the Jang Group and The Times of India are aspiring for Peace which will result in welfare of common man. This Indian doctor is healing the wounds of his Pakistani neighbors. The aspirant for peace can heal the wounds caused by the military establishment of both countries of their respective countries. All is not well on state level but something is well on some level. Let’s overcome state level by some level. Criticize Thakre but please don’t hesitate in admiring this Indian doctor to whom “the patient is patient and not Pakistani or Indian”.

Allow me to engage you in discussion on indo pak relations. We’ll write only facts & not opinions.
Lets start by thakre as u mention his name . I’ll give u the oppurtunity to tell how many muslims have been killed & injured by shiv sena vis a vis LET , IM, other islamic terrorists in the world or indian subcontinent.
This in itself will show u the hollowness of muslims & islam.
Stop preaching & remove poverty in pakistan as u cannot even claim discrimnation by hindus & christians their.

‘My Name is Not Khan’
Monday, 22 Feb, 2010 THIS is apropos of the letter by Amjad Maruf from India ‘My Name is Not Khan’ (Feb 16). I find it amusing that in the entire letter the writer has written negatively about Shah Rukh Khan, but underneath the veneer his real issue is that he is a typical anti-Pakistan Indian. That is made quite clear when he calls SRK’s Pakistan-friendly comments ‘inappropriate’.
I’m sure whatever he’s said about SRK may be true, I’m not the least bit concerned about that and have no reason to defend SRK, as he very well may have done all what the writer has penned.
In fact, may I add to it, by referring to a line in an article written by Jawed Naqvi on Jan 11 titled ‘Why the Heston-Bachchan syndrome should worry us”.
He mentioned in this article that:
“Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan claim to have secular credentials, and that makes it dangerous when they speak approvingly of someone as questionable as Modi.”
and also, “…..the response of India’s current acting rage Shahrukh Khan to a question about Narendra Modi.
“I don’t know him personally…I have no opinion…,” he had declared.
“Personally they have never been unkind to me.”
So I’m sure SRK is a very shrewd individual. That’s not the point, the point is that this Indian writer has in fact tried to defend a racist, anti-Pakistan, anti-Muslim group like the Shiv Sena.
He thinks that they had every right to protest silently and only destroying property was wrong. He should have bashed this group even more so than he did SRK, as the Shiv Sena are sworn enemies of Pakistan and even have a line in their oath which says: “We willl break Pakistan into 40 pieces”
India loves preaching to Pakistan on banning extremist groups here. But when it comes to their own terrorist, extremist groups, they don’t lift a finger against them.
And what’s more frightening is that people like Amjad K. Maruf have a bigger issue with SRK (though only now because of his remarks on Pakistan) than they have against the SS.
Even 60 years later Indians still have not accepted Pakistan on the world map. The Indian media loves bashing and humliating Pakistan on every forum they can find, especially on foreign news channels.
India has stopped water to Pakistan, continues to occupy Kashmir and has once again started playing musical chairs when it comes to talking with Pakistan, which they couldn’t care less to do as they just don’t want the Kashmir issue to be resolved ever, as that would prove that India was wrong in occupying it for over 60 years.
The international community couldn’t care less because they find India’s economy more interesting than the Kashmiris being murdered every day by Indian soldiers. And then the West scratches her head in bewilderment and wonders ‘why do they hate us?” Just one point in a lengthy list of whys.
